Brass and Copper Grade FAQ
C36000 or C26000 for connector bodies?
C36000 is the free-cutting default and holds small threads cleanly. C26000 (cartridge brass) forms and draws better and is the choice when the design starts from sheet or deep-drawn stock that we finish machine.
Can you machine beryllium copper C17200?
Yes, C17200 in the age-hardened and mill-hardened conditions for conductive springs and RF contacts, with the handling controls the alloy requires. Age to the tempers your spring spec calls out.
Which copper alloy for a heatsink base?
C11000 for maximum conductivity when the base is simple. Where fine features or threads dominate the machining, C14500 cuts much cleaner at about 94 percent of C11000 conductivity.
