Nitronic 60 Shrink-Fit Linkage Assembly with 1.4310 Plate
Nitronic 60 shrink-fit linkage assembly: bolt and socket turned from Nitronic 60, 1.4310 plate milled, hot interference assembly with no welding, electropolished to Ra 3.2, CMM and pull tested. Quote in 24 hours.

General Industrial Components
A three piece linkage assembly hot shrink fitted without welding: Nitronic 60 bolt and socket turned to f8/m6 fits, a 1.4310 stainless plate milled to H7 bores, assembled by thermal interference fit, then cleaned and electropolished to a bright Ra 3.2 finish.

About This Part
Welded linkages distort; this one does not. The joint is a thermal shrink fit: the Nitronic 60 socket is heated, slipped over the 1.4310 plate boss, and cooled into a permanent interference grip, with the bolt end assembled the same way. No weld metal, no heat affected zone, no post weld straightening, and the assembly comes apart never, which is the point.
The fits that make it work are turned and milled, not hoped for: the bolt runs Ø10 f8 / Ø14 / Ø11 / Ø0.5 m6, the plate bores Ø12 H7 / Ø10.5 H7 / Ø10 H8 / Ø10 f8 over a 53 x 18 x 24 mm section, and the socket Ø10 H8 / Ø10 f8 / Ø12 f6, with the plate length at 67 ±0.05 mm. General tolerances follow ISO 2768-M and welding related callouts ISO 13920-AE where the drawing applies them.
Nitronic 60 was chosen for the rubbing parts: its galling and wear resistance outlasts ordinary stainless where the linkage moves against its neighbors. After cold cleaning, the assembly is electropolished to a bright, passive Ra 3.2 surface. Every unit is CMM checked on bore positions and assembly dimensions, pull tested at the joint, and roughness sampled before packing.

Why Machine It at KGL
Five-Axis Fleet
100+ CNC machines including 11 five-axis centers run complex geometry in single setups, so tolerances do not stack up across refixturing.
Verified Accuracy
±0.005 mm standard on metals, plastics, and carbon fiber composite, verified on Hexagon and Zeiss CMMs (0.0015 mm accuracy).
Fast Prototypes
Engineering feedback with every quotation; prototype parts typically machined in 15 to 25 days.
One Supplier, End to End
Material sourcing, machining, heat treatment coordination, finishing, CMM inspection and export packaging under one roof.

Common Questions
Why shrink fit instead of welding the linkage?
Welding puts heat into thin stainless sections and pulls them out of true, and the weld bead becomes a corrosion and fatigue site. A shrink fit grips with uniform interference pressure, keeps everything straight, and the assembly geometry stays exactly as machined.
What makes Nitronic 60 special here?
Nitronic 60 is the anti galling stainless: where two stainless surfaces rub, ordinary grades seize and tear, while Nitronic 60 keeps sliding. On a linkage with moving contact, that is the difference between years and weeks of service.
How do you prove the joint strength?
Every unit is pull tested at the shrink joint after assembly, on top of the CMM dimensional check, so the interference fit is verified as built, not just as designed.
