About This Part

This Ø35 by 8.8 mm disc distributes flow and location between valve layers in bioanalysis hardware. The front face carries a 120 degree symmetric pattern of stepped pockets and holes; the reverse carries a deep counterbore and a central sleeve seat. The stepped bore runs Ø13.1 mm +0.04/-0.02 at 5.65 plus or minus 0.05 mm deep, and the Ø3.5 mm through holes hold position within 0.1 mm to the datums with 0.1 mm circular runout.

The part is black anodized, and anodize growth is the hidden trap on parts this small: the Ø3.5 mm holes and dowel bores are either masked or finish machined after oxidation so the class of fit survives. White and green non metallic dowels are then pressed in house with verticality controlled, so the assembly arrives ready to bolt down.

Two M3 x 0.5 6H through threads secure the plate. Inspection runs CMM on the bolt positions and stepped bore, plug gauges on the critical diameters, and a microscope sample on anodize appearance and dowel seating.

Why Machine It at KGL

Five-Axis Fleet

100+ CNC machines including 11 five-axis centers run complex geometry in single setups, so tolerances do not stack up across refixturing.

Verified Accuracy

±0.005 mm standard on metals, plastics, and carbon fiber composite, verified on Hexagon and Zeiss CMMs (0.0015 mm accuracy).

Fast Prototypes

Engineering feedback with every quotation; prototype parts typically machined in 15 to 25 days.

One Supplier, End to End

Material sourcing, machining, heat treatment coordination, finishing, CMM inspection and export packaging under one roof.

Common Questions

Does anodize affect the small holes?

It does if left unmanaged. Growth of a few microns per surface is either masked out or removed by finishing the controlled diameters after oxidation, which is how the dowel press fits stay repeatable.

Why press the dowels before shipping?

Pressing in house with verticality control removes a alignment risk at the customer line. A skewed dowel in a valve stack is an assembly fault that looks like a machining fault.
