AS9100D is the aerospace quality management standard built on top of ISO 9001:2015. It adds requirements for configuration management, risk management, special-process control, and first-article inspection that match the safety expectations of the aerospace industry. KGL holds certificate number CN059081 issued by Bureau Veritas, valid from 2026-02-06 to 2029-02-05.

Why KGL pursued AS9100D

Aerospace work started at KGL through prototypes for automation and inspection fixtures, then moved into structural brackets and turbine hardware. By 2024 we were machining flight-critical prototypes, and customers began asking for an aerospace-certified quality system. We initiated the AS9100D project in early 2025 and passed the initial audit in February 2026.

What the certificate covers

The certificate lists the scope as:

Manufacturing and sales of precision mechanical parts of aerospace.

The same certificate also references BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and EN 9100:2018, noting that EN 9100:2018 is technically equivalent to AS9100D. The certification structure is single-site, covering the KGL factory at No.30 Changyue Road, Guangming District, Shenzhen.

How the system runs on the floor

AS9100D changes the way we handle drawings, changes, and special processes.

Configuration management. Every aerospace job is tied to a specific drawing revision, material specification, and process sheet. When the customer issues an engineering change, the old revision is formally withdrawn and the new one is distributed to planning, programming, machining, and inspection before production restarts.

Risk-based planning. We review risks at quoting, process planning, and first-article stages. Risks include tolerance stack-up, fixture repeatability, tool access on 5-axis features, and supply-chain delays for aerospace-grade materials.

Special process control. Heat treatment, surface treatment, penetrant inspection, and shot peening are outsourced only to approved suppliers. We keep their approval records, process specifications, and certificates of conformance.

First article inspection (FAI). Aerospace parts require a full FAI before production release. At KGL the FAI covers all drawing dimensions, notes, geometric tolerances, material certifications, and surface-treatment requirements. The report is reviewed by the quality manager and the customer before batch machining begins.

Audits and validity

The original ASCS approval date and certificate issue date are both 06-02-2026, and the expiry date is 05-02-2029. Bureau Veritas will perform surveillance audits during this period. We run quarterly internal AS9100D audits and a full management review to keep the system ready.

What this means for customers

AS9100D certification tells aerospace buyers that KGL can support their design with a quality system that understands traceability, configuration control, and risk. It is a prerequisite for many flight-critical brackets, turbine housings, and structural components, and it allows KGL to supply parts that fit into the customer's own regulatory and safety documentation.
