About This Part

Pivot pins fail at their fits before they fail anywhere else, so this pin keeps its working diameters where a gauge expects them: Ø25.000 h6 (0 to -0.013 mm) and Ø21.00 h6 (0 to -0.01 mm) on the turning diameters, with the Ø15.00 ±0.20 mm step clearing the keeper face.

Location is handled twice over. A Ø9.00 ±0.02 mm center bore takes the main fastener, and two Ø3.00 mm holes at G7 (+0.012/+0.002) and P7 (-0.006/-0.016) sit 180 degrees apart for anti rotation dowels, drilled to position with CMM verification of the angular spread.

316 stainless brings the molybdenum edge over 304 wherever chlorides, washdown, or marine air show up. Fitted surfaces run at Ra 0.8, general tolerances follow GB/T 1804-f, and the R0.50 fillet with 0.5 by 45 degree chamfers keeps stress risers out of the transitions. Every pin is micrometer measured, CMM checked on hole positions, and gauge verified on the bores.

Why Machine It at KGL

Five-Axis Fleet

100+ CNC machines including 11 five-axis centers run complex geometry in single setups, so tolerances do not stack up across refixturing.

Verified Accuracy

±0.005 mm standard on metals, plastics, and carbon fiber composite, verified on Hexagon and Zeiss CMMs (0.0015 mm accuracy).

Fast Prototypes

Engineering feedback with every quotation; prototype parts typically machined in 15 to 25 days.

One Supplier, End to End

Material sourcing, machining, heat treatment coordination, finishing, CMM inspection and export packaging under one roof.

Part-Specific Advantages

  • Fitted diameters at Ø25 h6 and Ø21 h6, gauge true out of the lathe
  • Dual Ø3.00 locating holes at G7 and P7, 180 degrees apart, CMM verified

Common Questions

When is 316 worth the premium over 304?

Wherever the pin sees chlorides: washdown chemicals, marine air, or process fluids. The added molybdenum stops the pitting that would chew a 304 pin's h6 surface and ruin the fit.

Why one G7 and one P7 hole instead of two the same?

The mixed classes give a locate-then-press sequence: the G7 hole guides the dowel, the P7 hole presses it home. That is a common jig design and we drill both to class with plug gauges.

Can the angular spread be tighter than ±50 arcmin?

Yes, tighter angles quote with a CMM verified drilling setup. Tell us the drawing callout and we will confirm capability before committing.
