Powder Coating Services with RAL Color Control

Powder coating for enclosures, covers and frames: RAL color by number, 60 to 120 micrometer film, masked precision features, adhesion and thickness verified per batch.

Powder Coating for Enclosures and Covers

Powder coating gives thick, even, weather-stable color with good edge coverage, which is why it is the default on enclosures, panels and frames. KGL runs powder through audited partner lines, with masking callouts, RAL agreement and batch adhesion checks controlled from our side. Salt spray validation available where the drawing or the market demands it.

How We Run It and Check It

Pre-coat decisions we make at quote time: which faces are cosmetic, which features get masked, and whether sheet metal edges need a pre-finish so the powder does not telegraph laser-cut burrs. Parts come back to KGL for a final appearance check against the face map before packing with the certificate.

Related capability: sheet metal fabrication for the enclosures this finish usually lives on. Aluminum alternative: anodizing.

Cross entrances: by material | CNC machining | inspection and QC.

Related pages: anodizing for thin hard surfaces, laser engraving after coating for panel legends.
KGL at a glance: KGL Machinery & Electronics, Shenzhen since 2013. Machining and finishing under one quality system, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016 and AS9100D certified. Finishing certificates and RoHS/REACH declarations travel with the shipment. kgl@kglmfc.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which RAL colors can you hold?

Any RAL in the standard powder catalog, plus texture and fine-texture finishes. Color is agreed by RAL number on the quote; for visible consumer parts we agree a face map and retained sample before production.

How does powder coating affect tolerances?

Film builds 60 to 120 micrometers typical, so it is a finishing route for cosmetic and protective surfaces, not for precision fits. Threads, grounding points and mating faces are masked per drawing, and edge buildup at corners is planned into the callout.

Powder coat or anodize for an aluminum enclosure?

Powder wins on thick, weather-exposed, colored surfaces and on edge coverage. Anodize wins where the surface must stay hard and thin and where dimensions matter. Enclosures often use both: powder outside, masked and clear anodized or bare at mounting and grounding features.

What testing do you provide?

Cross-hatch adhesion per batch on witness panels, film thickness measurement, and salt spray on request. Reports travel with the shipment.
